Looking outside at the pretty snow coming down. Ever notice when it is snowing but not windy how utterly peaceful it seems outside? I have always loved laying on my back and looking at the sky in snow.
Each snowflake is unique which i think is just awesome. Just like everyone of us is unique. We all have our gifts and sometimes it takes us a while to figure out what they are but once we do, we are not doing any one any good if we don't share them with the world.
I was having a conversation with my stepdaughter yesterday and she was saying how her mom is really creative and her dad is really good under pressure and why couldn't she have gotten those genes.
My reply to that was that she was special and unique in her own way and not to want someone else's gifts but rather to be happy with her gifts.
She is very intelligent, kind hearted, funny and sweet. She has a good head on her shoulders and makes good decisions. She is going to go to college soon and wants to study criminal justice and just hearing her views on the world astound me. She knows what she wants, she knows how she wants the world to change and I think that eventually she will be a part of making that change happen.
We all have gifts and if we try to do something that is not in our skill set we are not only hurting ourselves but others as well because we are taking away the joy they get doing that task we don't like to do ourselves. Different way to think of things don't you think?
I have learned over the years to do what I do best which is strategize and create with people, hold them accountable, make sure things get done that they need done and manage a number of balls in the air at one time. It is what I thrive at and what I love doing.
Sometimes just getting the strategy out of your head and onto paper works wonders and from there you can break it down to bite size tasks that you can easily accomplish no matter how much time you have available.
Opportunities come in many different forms and I like to think that things don't happen that are not meant to. For instance I was trying to make an appointment for my husband's car to get fixed a couple weeks ago and I couldn't get the mechanic on the phone. Then i got a text from my hubby saying he decided to do it himself. So that was the Universe helping me along so i didn't have to make a follow up call to cancel. Things like that ever happen for you? Think about it. You may be amazed at how often little things like that occur that you really never noticed. And next time you can't get someone on the phone when you want or something like that, realize that the Universe is sending you a loving message!
